  • Ended up serving under Washington during the War, where he earned the name “Light-Horse Harry Lee”

  • Served in the Continental Congress

  • Robert E. Lee’s dad

  • Commanded 13,000 troops to squash the Whiskey Rebellion

  • Advised young Billy Harrison (future president William Henry Harrison) to snag an officer’s commission and take advantages out west. Worked out well for Harrision (George Washington himself signed the papers to get him in, even though he was too young.) Didn’t work out for the people already living out west.
